It takes a HEAP of research into allied families to (sometimes) find their original birth name since many were married several times. Sometimes it takes charting out an entire family just to figure out where my family fits in (or DOESN'T!). I start by getting clues on the web, then researching them further in books and other sources. Of course, I haven't gotten to everyone, this is an organic process, I am constantly adding names, correcting, deleting, and supplementing information.
