(He called himself 50 years old in a deposition incourt, January 25, 1667.) He married on February 1, 1643, Elizabeth,daughter of John and Elizabeth (Whale) Moore of Sudbury, Massachusetts(see Moore I), who died August 3, 1705. Henry Rice came with hisparents to Sudbury, Massachusetts, and after his marriage removed toFramingham, where he took the oath of fidelity July 9, 1645. His firstgrant of land was in 1643, and in 1659 his father deeded him a tractof land in the wilderness then called "New Trouble," and, about thesame time, land south of Cochituate brook, which was later confirmedby Indian deeds, dated March 10, 1672-3. He lived in the section ofthe town of Framingham that was called "Rice's Grant," and died thereFebruary 10, 1710-11. His will, dated October 3, 1705, was proved atCambridge, Massachusetts, February 29, 1710-11. He bequeathed to sonsJonathan and David, and to daughters Elizabeth Brewer, Hannah Taylor,Abigail Smith, Tamazine Parmeter, Rachel Drury, Lydia Wheelock, MercyAllen, and granddaughter Mary Brigham.
